How often is too often? Running hourly across 6 pages

Tempted to run an hourly campaign across all 6 of my pages because the tool makes it trivial. But I don't want to get reach-throttled or flagged.

Anyone actually running hourly long enough to say whether it hurts? And does the platform care that the posts come from an API rather than the app?

Marcus's read matches what we see across accounts. A few specifics:

On API posting: posting through the official Graph API and equivalents is exactly what those APIs are for. It is not penalized as "inauthentic" the way scraping or automation-via-browser would be. Every post goes out through the platform's sanctioned endpoint with your own approved connection.

On frequency: the throttling people experience is almost never "you posted too much," it's audience fatigue showing up as declining per-post reach. Platforms rank by early engagement. Post more often than your audience can engage and each post starts from a worse position.

Practical guidance from what we observe: - Facebook Pages: 1–3/day is the sweet spot for most, more if the content is genuinely varied. - Instagram: 1–2/day feed, Reels can go higher. - TikTok/Shorts: tolerate the highest frequency, 3–5/day is normal for growth accounts.

If you want volume, spread it across more accounts rather than more posts per account. That's what the fan-out is for.

I ran hourly on two pages for about three weeks as a test. Reach per post dropped noticeably after the first week. Total reach was still up versus daily, but the per-post number looked bad enough that a client asked about it.

Settled on 4–5 posts a day spread out. Better engagement per post and nobody asks awkward questions.

Makes sense. Dialed back to 4/day across all 6 pages, which is still 24 posts a day total for basically zero work. That's the win, not cramming one page.
